Bridge Learning Solution for the Underserved Communities

Bridge is a non-profit education management institution committed to improving access to quality, equitable, and evidence-based learning for children in underserved communities. The organization addresses the global learning crisis by delivering structured, technology-enabled education solutions that strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills, improve teacher effectiveness, and increase learner retention and progression.

Bridge has a long-standing presence in Kenya and other low-resource settings, supporting community-based schools serving children from low-income households in both urban informal settlements and rural areas. Its approach combines digital learning platforms, structured lesson delivery, continuous teacher coaching, and real-time data systems that generate critical learning data points including digital pupil attendance, academy staff daily attendance, daily lesson completion scores, digital assessment administration and marking via Let’s Mark technology, among others. This data centered school management enables continuous improvement in instructional quality, learner support, and overall education outcomes.

We run a data-drive and technology powered learning system, capturing millions of data points daily across attendance, lesson delivery, and assessments. This enables real-time monitoring, early identification of learning gaps, and targeted interventions to improve student outcomes. Teachers receive continuous coaching and feedback supported by this system, strengthening classroom practice and improving instructional quality at scale.

Bridge’s education model has been validated through independent research led by the University of Chicago teaching faculty. The study found that Bridge delivers among the largest learning gains globally, with learners achieving approximately 53% more learning compared to peers in similar contexts. After two years, pupils gained the equivalent of one additional year of learning in primary grades, while pre-primary learners gained nearly 1.5 additional years of learning.

The organization places strong emphasis on equity and inclusion, ensuring that girls and boys from marginalized communities have equal opportunities to learn and succeed. It also empowers parents and local communities through leadership structures such as Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) - strengthening accountability, school attendance, and learner support at community level. This community engagement model reinforces ownership and sustainability of learning outcomes.
