Learning from African Classroom Pedagogy to Increase Student Engagement in Education Technologies

This study examines how incorporating pedagogical techniques observed in rural Tanzanian classrooms can improve student engagement with tablet-based early literacy applications featuring speech and handwriting recognition. Researchers field-tested the applications with 283 children, providing insights into technology-supported foundational learning in Sub-Saharan Africa.
