The Role of Structured Play in Facilitating Preschool Learners’ Executive Functions

This doctoral thesis investigates how structured play-based pedagogies facilitate the development of executive function skills in preschool learners in South Africa. Using a qualitative case study approach, it examines teacher practices, learning materials, and curriculum alignment to support early cognitive and behavioral development.
