Extending the Developmental Milestones Checklist for Use in a Different Context in Sub-Saharan Africa

This study details the development and evaluation of the Developmental Milestones Checklist (DMC-II) in Burkina Faso to reliably assess motor, language, and personal-social skills in infants and toddlers across Sub-Saharan Africa. The findings demonstrate that the tool is culturally appropriate, psychometrically sound, and sensitive to nutritional status and home environments.
